Jay’s Motor Rent a Car – Refund Policy

At Jay’s Motor Rent a Car, we are committed to providing you with exceptional service and a hassle-free car rental experience in the Commonwealth of Dominica. We understand that, on rare occasions, circumstances may arise where you need to request a refund. This policy outlines our procedures for refunds, cancellations, and the terms and conditions governing these processes.

Booking Cancellations:

  1. Cancellations Made Within 24 Hours: If you cancel your car rental booking within 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time, a full refund will be issued. You will receive your refund through the original payment method.
  2. Cancellations Made Beyond 24 Hours: For cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time, we will process your refund after deducting an administrative fee of $25 USD. The remainder of the rental fee will be refunded to your original payment method.

Refund Processing:

  1. Credit Card Refunds: Refunds for credit card payments will be processed to the same credit card used for the booking. Please allow 5 to 10 business days for the refund to reflect in your account, depending on your card issuer’s policies.
  2. Cash Payments: For cash payments, refunds will be issued via a company check or bank transfer. A member of our customer support team will contact you to arrange the refund.

No-Show or Late Return:

In cases of a no-show (failure to pick up the rental vehicle on the scheduled date and time) or late return (returning the vehicle beyond the agreed rental period), no refunds will be provided. The full rental fee, including any additional charges, will apply.

Early Returns:

If you choose to return the rental vehicle before the agreed-upon rental period is complete, we do not provide refunds for the unused portion of the rental period. You will be billed for the original reservation duration.

Change of Booking:

Changes to your booking, such as altering the pickup or drop-off date or time, may affect the rental rate. Any increase in the rental cost due to changes will be charged, while any decrease will not result in a refund.

Extension of Rental Period:

If you decide to extend your rental period beyond the initially agreed-upon duration, please contact our customer support team. Additional rental charges will apply and need to be settled accordingly.

Damage or Accidents:

In the event of an accident or damage to the rental vehicle, our regular insurance and damage policies apply. Refunds are not applicable for accidents or damage to the rental vehicle.

Disputes and Resolution:

If you believe that you are entitled to a refund due to unforeseen circumstances or any other issues not covered by this policy, please contact our customer support team. We will assess each case individually and work towards a fair resolution.
